About Us

Oriental Watchman Publishing House began its publishing ministry in 1924, fueled by the dedication and missionary efforts of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Since then, it has faithfully shared literature of various kinds—spiritual, educational, health, and community-focused—to meet the diverse needs of its readers across Southern Asia.

Our story, however, traces back to Calcutta in 1903, born out of the fervent prayers and bold vision of early Adventist missionaries. Though they faced the immense challenge of beginning without a printing press, their unwavering faith and determination laid the foundation for a mission that steadily grew in strength and reach.

In the years that followed, the work relocated—first to Karmatar in 1905, then to Lucknow in 1909, and finally found its permanent home in Pune in 1924. With each move, our commitment deepened, and our impact widened. Guided by the vision and sacrifices of those who came before us, we remain devoted to spreading truth and light through the printed word.

As we look to the future, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation—confident that the same God who led us in the past continues to guide us forward in mission and purpose.
