Who We Are

A publishing ministry for Southern Asia.

Oriental Watchman Publishing House is the publishing ministry operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Publishing Association (Pvt. Ltd.), a company owned by the Southern Asia Division of Seventh-day Adventists.

Our work brings together publishing, printing, production, and distribution so quality literature reaches readers. From carefully selected titles to the printed book, we keep a standard that reflects the importance of the message every publication carries.

Our story spans more than a century, but our focus is not simply on the past. We are committed to what literature can do for the generations ahead.

Purpose

Mission, vision, and POWER.

Mission

Proclaim the Gospel through literature.

To print and publish literature in the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in His life, death, resurrection, and heavenly ministry.

To help a growing relationship with God by providing periodicals and books that help people grow spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially as we near Christ’s soon second coming.

To prepare literature in every language of the Southern Asia Division so people can understand the love of Jesus.

Vision

Reflect the life of Jesus in our work.

The vision of Oriental Watchman Publishing House is to reflect the life of Jesus Christ in the lives of its employees through the presence of the Holy Spirit and the literature. By His grace we will:

  • Assist the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Southern Asia Division as part of the Gospel commission to proclaim the three angels’ message.
  • Keep the presence of God in every production and preparation process, treating employees equally and offering periodic appreciation to foster professional growth.
  • Use resources prudently to accomplish the mission as we approach Christ’s second coming, and develop a healthy financial base for continued growth through God’s blessings.

POWER statement

Publish the end-time message without compromise.

Through the Holy Spirit, we receive power to publish the end-time message without compromise, summarised in POWER:

P
Prayer is the greatest opportunity to receive power and the greatest resource for the success of our mission. It is the moving force behind every planning, printing, and promotion.
O
Obedience is the greatest virtue — following the rules, regulations, and line of communication so every employee is an asset.
W
Work is the greatest privilege: to labour with dignity and render the best for the Lord, His church, family, friends, and OWPH.
E
Evangelism is the greatest responsibility of the Publishing House. The Spirit of Prophecy states that in a large degree through our Publishing House is to be accomplished the work of that other angel who comes down from heaven with great power and who lightens the earth.
R
Restoration is the greatest goal: to bring back the image of God in humankind. OWPH forges ahead to do a mighty work for the Lord through printed pages.

More than printing

Our mission goes beyond printing books.

We seek to make literature available that can inform, inspire, encourage, strengthen, and transform. Every publication is an opportunity to place a meaningful idea into someone’s hands — whether it is read on a quiet morning, shared with a family member, given as a gift, or discovered by a young reader for the first time.

  • Inform
  • Inspire
  • Encourage
  • Strengthen
  • Transform
